TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Area planners are looking ahead to the next four years with more than $200 million in transportation projects in Tippecanoe County. They’re hoping the public can help.
The Citizen Participation Committee with the Area Plan Commission met Tuesday night to go over the Fiscal Year 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program.
It includes detailed plans for road, bicycle and pedestrian projects throughout the county.
Senior Planner of Transportation Doug Poad said all the projects between the two cities and county had to be prioritized.
“We only receive a small portion of federal funds each year and in order to spend that money wisely, we look at this usually every other year to see which projects that these federal funds should go to,” said Poad.
Poad said planners are looking to gather public input for the projects. They will address the comments and change the draft accordingly.
