Local students aim to make a difference with Dance Marathon

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — You have a chance to support local students in their mission to help Riley Hospital for Children.

Students at West Lafayette High School have been busy organizing the final details of the West Lafayette Dance Marathon.

On Saturday, students will dance on their feet from 2-7 p.m. — standing up for those who can’t.

Last year, they raised more than $17,000. They’re aiming to beat that this year.

“It’s very rewarding to be part of something bigger than ourselves and to meet so many families whose lives have been changed or saved by Riley,” West Lafayette junior Abby Hummels said.

The event features dancing, games, crafts, food and fun.

“It’s just happiness … because … the Riley kids are there and you know exactly where the money is going,” West Lafayette senior Sarah Cohen said.
