Lafayette police search for person of interest in stabbing case

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Police are searching for a person who stabbed a man in Lafayette Thursday afternoon.

Lafayette Police Lt. Brian Gossard said police were called to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Salem Street for a report of a man stabbed two times in the back.

The victim was taken to a Lafayette hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The man who police believe stabbed the victim left through a window in the back of the apartment before authorities could arrive.

Gossard said officers checked apartments in the complex and several nearby businesses for the person of interest.

Police are now searching for 46-year-old Anthony “Tony” Richard. They believe he may have information about the case.
