TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A Lafayette man who was previously charged with eight drug-related counts, now faces more drug charges.

Tippecanoe County Prosecutor Pat Harrington charged 33-year-old Rufus Duncan on Thursday with nine new counts, including dealing in marijuana and dealing in a synthetic drug.

Court documents state the charges stem from a Jan. 19 police search of Duncan’s apartment on Roberts Street in Lafayette. During the search, police say they found more than six pounds of spice, one-third of a pound of marijuana and a large quantity of cash.

As News 18 previously reported, Duncan was charged with six felony counts last month. Police say they found nine pounds of synthetic drugs in his apartment on Feb. 10.

Harrington says Duncan has a prior drug offense. He was convicted on felony charges of dealing synthetic drugs three years ago in Hendricks County.

Duncan remains in the Tippecanoe County Jail.
