DELPHI, Ind. (WLFI) — Signage, cameras and funding — the talking points for the Delphi Trail Safety Task Force Monday night.
The group was formed after the deaths of Delphi teens’ Libby German and Abby Williams. The members are working to improve safety on the Delphi Historic Trails.
The group is looking to install posts along the trails that would help identify a location during an emergency.
They are also looking to see how much it could cost to install cameras at the entrances, exits and possibly along the trails.
“Nothing is off the table when it comes to a security system and the safety of our citizens,” said Jacob Adams, director of community development for Delphi. “We want to look at it from every avenue, whether it’s a big expenditure or a small expenditure.”
As far as funding, the task force is working to organize a 5K run for June. They are also looking into crowdfunding and an endowment fund.
