Man arrested after police chase in Tippecanoe County

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A man was arrested after a police chase in Tippecanoe County early Monday morning.

Police received the report of a possible drunken driver just after 1 a.m.

Just a short time after the report was made, an officer with the West Lafayette Police Department stopped a vehicle matching the description given to police near the intersection of Sagamore Parkway and U.S. 231.

The car was driven by 27-year-old Dylan Fonder of West Lafayette.

After the officer stepped out of his vehicle, Fonder drove off.

A police chase ensued.

Fonder led police to a West Lafayette neighborhood near Devon and Cambridge streets, eventually ditching his vehicle and running from police through yards.

Fonder was caught thanks to help from K-9 units with the Lafayette Police Department and Indiana State Police.

The case remains under investigation.
