Lafayette police investigate shooting near Columbian Park

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Lafayette police are investigating an early Monday morning shooting near Columbian Park.

Police responded Monday around 2:30 a.m. to the area of South 24th and Brice streets, just south of Columbian Park, on a report of a woman being shot. The caller was driving the victim to the hospital when the 911 call was made.

Lafayette police told News 18 several shots were fired in the area. They did confirm one woman was shot.

The victim was treated at a Lafayette hospital for a gunshot wound. Police said her condition is currently listed as stable.

Crime scene investigators conducted a follow-up investigation. But so far, no one has been arrested.
