LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A man charged with robbing a Lafayette man as he walked down the street will spend 15 years in prison.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Gene McCaulley walked up to the man, placed the barrel of a gun on the man’s chest and demanded money.
It happened in August 2016 near North Ninth and Main streets.
Court documents say the victim gave up two dollar bills and some change. Police later found McCaulley with two dollars and change and recovered a BB gun nearby.
McCaulley was sentenced to 18 years total, with 15 years behind bars and three years on probation.
