JCPenney closing 138 stores nationwide

LOGANSPORT, Ind. (WLFI) — Yet another national retailer has announced widespread store closures this spring. This one will affect an already struggling mall in Logansport.

JCPenney’s store in the Logansport Mall will be going out of business, according to a recent announcement from the business.

It’s one of five Indiana stores and 138 nationwide that the company plans to liquidate.

JCPenney says nationwide, the plan will affect about 5,000 jobs and most of the stores on the list will begin closing in about a month.
