Erica joined the Sports team at WLFI in October 2016. Before traveling to the mid-west, Erica resided in Southern California, graduating from SDSU with a degree in Journalism with an emphasis in media studies. She also attended Palomar College simultaneously while at SDSU where she was participating in the advanced digital media program. Through the program, she was nominated and received a student Emmy for producing a segment of the school’s sports show Prep Sports Live.
Besides being a producer, she was an anchor and a reporter as well. While in school, she interned for Fox 5 San Diego’s Sports department. The internship helped her grow as a reporter by giving her the opportunity to interview Padre and Charger players, and Monster Energy Supercross competitors.
Erica had a love for sports growing up which lead her into the sports reporting field. She played soccer, and was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader. She loves meeting new people, making everyone laugh, and has a loud personality. When she’s not covering a sports event or interviewing coaches, she likes to be outdoors, listen to music, or spending time with family and friends. She is excited to be the newest addition to the WLFI family, the Lafayette area, and reporting on the local sports teams.
