WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The American Red Cross is inviting people to be a hero by giving blood.

March is Red Cross Month. Every U.S. president since 1943 has recognized March as a time to celebrate supporters of Red Cross in their communities.

Blood donor Sherri Kay has donated blood for the Red Cross for more than three decades. She says donating makes a difference.

“Knowing that I help to save lives and make a difference through the Red Cross is one of the most significant things that I do,” Kay stated in a press release.

The Red Cross accepts blood donations of all blood types.

Anyone donating blood through May 15 can be entered to win four tickets to a Cedar Fair theme park, which includes Cedar Point and Kings Island. Everyone donating blood will have access to buy theme park tickets at a discounted price. Cedar Fair plans to donate $2 of every ticket sold back to the Red Cross.

To make an appointment, visit the Red Cross website or call 800-733-2767.
