LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — Several local residents spent Saturday afternoon knocking down pins for injured animals.
The Almost Home Humane Society held its 21st annual Bowl-A-Thon, which raises money for the Injured Animal Fund. Funds go directly to paying for medical treatment of injured animals before they get adopted.
AAHS executive director Stacy Rogers hopes to raise at least $20,000 during the event. She said this event is one where you know donations are going to a good cause.
“This is one of our events that you come and see the injured pets on the monitors that have been helped in the last year,” Rogers said. “All of your donations are going to help a pet that might not otherwise get a second chance. It will also get the treatment that it needs and placed in a forever home.”
This event is the shelter’s sole fundraiser to help animals who arrive at the facility with broken bones, medical issues and other situations.
You can donate to the fund any time in person at the AHHS located at 1705 S. Second St. in Lafayette.
