WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – WLFI is committed to furthering the training and education of perspective Broadcast Meteorologists. We offer internships in all three semesters of the school year: fall, spring and summer.
Our Meteorology interns find out firsthand what it takes to bring a forecast from paper to a commercial broadcast. Interns will receive hands-on experience working with our Weather Central Fusion system and one on one work with our Meteorologists in front of the chroma-wall.
There are a few requirements that must be met to be eligible for our internships:
- You must be a full-time college student in your junior or senior year.
- You must be majoring in atmospheric science or a communications-linked field, i.e., journalism, broadcast media, communications, etc.
- You must complete a minimum of 10 weeks’ work with 15 hours per week, which must be given in college credit.
If you’re interested in WLFI’s internship program, find out how to apply by contacting Assistant News Director Keith Hatten via email or by phone at 765-463-1800.
