WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (The Exponent) – Purdue Police investigated two separate reports of gun shots fired at Purdue Village early Sunday morning; both reports were discovered to be unfounded.

PUPD received a phone call around 4 a.m. Sunday from a Purdue Village resident who claimed they heard shots fired in the area. According to Purdue Village, no resident assistant was on duty at the time of the reported incident.

Officers were sent to the area and searched from the Purdue airport to State Street and around the Purdue Village buildings on foot, but found no evidence of previous gun shots being fired.
